Premier Vision is a full-service optical laboratory based in Salt Lake City, serving independent optometry and dispensing offices across Utah and the Mountain West.

In 2026, Premier Vision transitioned to new ownership led by Ben Rollins, optical industry entrepreneur and founder of Axon Optics, alongside Afshin Baghai, Premier Vision’s longtime Lab Director and original founder.

Ben first worked with Premier Vision as a customer. He chose the lab because it was local, responsive, and accessible—and because problems were solved quickly by real people, not ticket systems. After years of visiting the lab, working directly with the team, and relying on Premier Vision for critical jobs, he became an owner.

Afshin founded Premier Vision in 2007 with a group of eye care practitioners and has led the lab ever since. As Lab Director, he built Premier Vision around direct access, fast decision-making, and accountability—no corporate layers, no bureaucracy.

A key part of that leadership is Mike Shimp, Premier Vision’s Master Optician. Mike brings decades of hands-on optical experience and works directly with practices to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency. He also leads Premier Vision’s in-office and in-lab optician training—something few labs can offer, and only a local lab can do well.
